Canal digging will bring back days of 'fish and rice' Bengalis :Relief Minister

Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu said that the canal-digging program will usher in a green revolution. Through this, the natural balance will be preserved. As a result of fish farming in canal water, the days of 'Bengali eating fish and rice' will return. He called on everyone to participate spontaneously in the canal-digging program.
He said these to the local people today while inspecting the re-excavation of the Trishal canal in Mymensingh on Friday.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will visit Trishal tomorrow to inaugurate the canal re-excavation project, which is dedicated to the memory of Shaheed Zia. There, he will plant a palm tree on the bank of the canal. The canal was inaugurated by the late President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman on September 6, 1979.
Local MP Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Liton, Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner Saifur Rahman and local political leaders were present.
