BSF returns 5 Bangladeshis at Dahagram Border

The Border Security Force (BSF) of India returned five Bangladeshi citizens through Dahagram border in Patgram, Lalmonirhat on Saturday.

Subedar Ayub Ali, Commander of the Panbari Border Outpost (BOP), confirmed the matter.

A flag meeting was held on Friday at the Tinbigha Corridor near Panbari BOP between BSF and Bangladesh Rifles (BGB). During the meeting, the five Bangladeshis were handed over to BGB. Sanjiv Kumar, Commander of BSF's Omar Camp, led the Indian side, while Subedar Ayub Ali led the Bangladeshi side.

These individuals had illegally entered India through the Cumilla-Agartala border in 2022. They were arrested by BSF patrol teams on Friday while trying to return to Bangladesh via the Angorpota border in Dahagram Union.

The names of the returned citizens are: Ferdous Farhad Roshni (26), from Mirpur, Dhaka, Farid Islam and Hriday Hasan Sarwar Nurjahan (28), from Mirpur, Dhaka, Hamidul Islam Ria Moni (27), from Mirpur, Dhaka, and Adam Ali (52) and his wife Amina Bibi (42), from Fulbari, Kurigram.

Subedar Ayub Ali said, “We coordinated with BSF to bring back them . They will be reunited with their families following proper procedures.
