Bribery, corruption, forgery : ACC filed case against Sub -registrar Tanu Roy

ACC has filed a case against nine people including the then sub-registrar, deed writer, donor-receiver of that office for executing fake deeds in 2015 through forged BRS slips in Alfadanga Sub-registrar Office in Faridpur.

Kamrul Hasan, Deputy Assistant Director of the ACC Combined District Office, Faridpur, filed this case as the plaintiff on October 21.

The other nine accused in the case are- Tanu Roy (38), the then sub-registrar of Alfadanga, Shukuran Nessa (85), the donor of the document, Rashida Begum (44), Nurjahan Begum (52) and Hasi Begum (42), the recipient of the document, the witness of the document, Mohammad Noor Islam (48), Bachchu Mia (45), identifier Abul Kalam (65) and document writer Ali Haider Mia (55). Another defendant in the case, Moktar Hossain, husband of document donor Shukuran Nesa, has been dropped from the accused due to his death.

According to Faridpur district office of ACC, 39 percent of Doba class, 32.58 percent of houses and 2.71 percent of null land in Tiorpara village of Bilzoaria village of Alfadanga upazila are the residents of that village. Pannu Biswas and his four brothers. However, Moktar Hossain, a resident of the area, claimed the land as his own. Pannu Biswas and Moktar Hossain had a conflict going on for a long time.

On October 4, 2015, Alfadanga sub-registrar's office said that 74 percent of the land was fake BRS. Sub-registrar Tanu Roy registered the deed in the name of his wife Shukuron Nesa and Moktar's three daughters Rashida Begum, Noor Jahan Begum and Hasi Begum. Helped them in this work, document writer Abul Kalam, document identifier Md. Bachchu Mia and other accused.

ACC also said that Pannu Biswas and his four brothers, the original owner of the land, came to know after a long time that their land was deeded on false and fake documents.

Later, on September 18, 2023, Pannu Biswas filed a complaint in the court of the Senior Special Judge of Faridpur with the details of the incident. ACC was directed to take action on the complaint.

Later, Deputy Assistant Director of ACC Faridpur office, Kamrul Hasan, after investigating the facts of the incident, sought permission from ACC Dhaka office to file a case against the accused. On October 8, the ACC gave permission to file a case against the accused, and the case was filed on October 21.

The accused in this case is Tanu Roy, Sub-Registrar of Alphadanga in 2015. Tanu Roy is currently working in the office of Baliakandi Upazila Sub-Registry of Rajbari. Tanu Roy said it was a bogus document. I have seen all the documents to be deeded and deeded. I don't know if BRS slip is fake or not. When the ACC summoned me in this regard, I came to the ACC Faridpur district office last April and explained my position. After this, there is no case in my name. I am surprised to hear the news of this case.

Confirming the matter , ACC Faridpur Deputy Director Ratan Kumar Das said that a case has been filed against the accused including the sub-register of Alfadanga under five other sections of the Penal Code, including allegations of criminal misconduct by abuse of power.

The ACC will investigate the case and submit a report to the Special Judge Court of Faridpur
