Body of missing child recovered by Coast Guard in Barishal

The body of a missing child has been recovered from the Meghna River in Hizla, Barisal by a Coast Guard diving team on Tuesday (April 29).
It is learnt that a 5-year-old child named Sawda went missing while bathing in the Meghna River near Teker Bazar area of Hizla Upazila.
When locals informed the Hizla Coast Guard Station, a “Search and Rescue” operation was immediately launched from 2 PM jointly by Coast Guard Base Bhola and Station Hizla.After a two-day search, on May 1, 2025, Thursday at 7:30 AM, the rescue team again conducted an operation at the incident site. Around 8 AM, upon receiving information from locals about a body floating in the Char Shibli area, the Coast Guard team recovered the body of the missing child Sawda.The recovered Sawda is the son of Md. Shamim from Bausia Teker Bazar area of Hizla.Later, the body was handed over to the Hizla Naval Police through legal procedures.
