The 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was celebrated in Hatia, Noakhali, with flag hoisting, rallies, joyous processions, discussion meetings and prayers. A festive atmosphere was created in the presence of party leaders and activists at the party office and surrounding areas since Tuesday morning.

The program began in the morning with the hoisting of the party flag in front of the temporary office of Hatia Upazila BNP. Later, the leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations took out a rally and a joyous procession. The procession circled various roads and ended in front of the party office. At this time, the roads became filled with various slogans of the leaders and activists.

Later, a discussion meeting and rally were held in front of the party office. In this, the leaders spoke about the history of BNP's establishment, the party's role in the country's politics, and future political strategies. The speakers urged the party leaders and activists to remain united and stand by the common people.

Former Municipal BNP Acting President Mokaram Billah Shahadat, Upazila BNP Vice President Maksur Rahman Babar, Vice President Hasib Main Uddin, Joint General Secretary Amirul Islam Sajjad, Municipal BNP Joint General Secretary Ashiq Iqbal and BNP leader Sabbir Uddin Masum were present.

Apart from this, Upazila Jubo Dal convener Ismail Hossain Ilias, member secretary Fahim Uddin, Municipality Jubo Dal convener Momin Ullah Russell, member secretary Kausar Mostafa, Upazila Volunteer Dal member secretary Sumon Talukder, member Kamrul Islam Turag, Municipality Volunteer Dal acting convener Nazrul Islam, Upazila Chhatra Dal convener Riaz Mahmud, member secretary Abdul Halim, Municipality Chhatra Dal convener Shariful Islam Dukhu and member secretary Farhad Mahmud, along with leaders and activists from various levels of BNP and its affiliates and associate organizations were present.

At the end of the rally, prayers were offered for the party's founder, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman and party leaders and activists. At the same time, special prayers were held seeking peace, prosperity and welfare of the country and its people.

This year's founding anniversary in Hatia was quite lively with the presence of party leaders and activists and the continuity of the programs. Especially with the participation of leaders and activists of BNP, Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal in the rallies and joy processions, the entire event took on a different dimension.

Various programs, including discussion meetings, are being held at various unions across the country to mark the 48th founding anniversary of the BNP. The party has also announced a five-day program from September 1 to 5 at the central level.
