
Allegations of cutting corn at night in Tongibar

An opponent has been accused of cutting corn trees at night in Tongibari, Munshiganj. The damage is about 1.5 lakh taka. In this incident, the landowner Mosammat Halima Begum filed a general diary against Sultan Ahmed (45) and his wife Tahmina Begum (40) at the Tongibari Police Station. It is reported that Mosammat Halima Begum, the wife of the late Khorshed Matabar of Nayna village in Yaslang union of Tongibari upazila, was in a dispute with Sultan Ahmed, son of the late Mannan Matabar, over the land of that area. Due to this, Sultan Gangra cut the corn trees planted by Halima Begum and left. Halima Begum said, I do not have a husband, 41 percent of the land in my name is leased from the government. My brother-in-law Sultan Ahmed is trying to seize this land by force. Before that, he burned the mustard and wheat plants I planted with poison. Also, Sultan Ahmed Gangra is constantly threatening me with death. Tongibari Police Station OC Md. Mohidul Islam said, a complaint has been filed with the police station in this incident and legal action will be taken after investigating.
