Advocacy dialogue for 'Samatay Tarunya' project held in Sadullapur

An advocacy dialogue was held in Sadullapur, Gaibandha under the 'Samatay Tarunya: Youth for Equality' project to address negative gender-based perceptions prevalent in society, prevent child marriage, and establish equality between men and women.
The dialogue was held at the Smart Conference Hall in Sadullapur on Wednesday at 11 am. The event was jointly implemented by Jago Foundation Trust and Plan International Bangladesh, with financial support from the Netherlands Embassy in Dhaka, and organized by the Chandiapur Science and Youth Sports Club.
The program was presided over by the founder of Chandiapur Science and Youth Sports Club, Md. Belal Hossain, and hosted by the club's president, Manik Mia. Sadullapur Upazila Youth Development Officer, Md. Abdul Wahab, was present as the chief guest.
Also present at the event were local public representatives, teachers, journalists, religious representatives, social workers, women's representatives, students, local dignitaries, representatives of various social and voluntary organizations, and youth volunteers of the project.
The discussion highlighted various aspects of changing negative gender-based concepts and discriminatory attitudes prevalent in society, preventing child marriage, and establishing equal rights and dignity for women and men. At the same time, the role of youth in addressing these social problems, raising public awareness at the local level, and the need for collective initiatives were discussed.
The speakers said that families, educational institutions, public representatives, social organizations and local leadership must work together to establish gender equality and prevent child marriage.
Participants at the event, from their respective positions, emphasized the importance of eliminating gender-based discrimination, preventing child marriage, and playing a role in establishing equality between women and men.
