804 complaints involving Tk 13.65 cr  in bribes lodged on 'Ghush.site'

To report corruption and extortion while seeking public services, a newly launched website titled 'ghush.site' has accumulated 804 complaints totaling Tk 13.65 crore in demanded bribes within its first two days of operation after launching on August 21.

Created by co-founders Saif Kabir and Shahed Sharif—inspired by a foreign website—the platform aims to aggregate isolated bribery experiences to map out which government offices or public services face the highest allegations, though the site explicitly does not claim these unverified reports as legal proof or official investigations.

To submit a report in under two minutes without creating an account, users must provide five core types of information: the department name, type of service, location, amount of bribe demanded, and the final outcome, alongside a brief description while omitting specific names, titles, or phone numbers to focus on institutional patterns rather than individuals. Following submission, complaints undergo moderation to remove personal data, offensive content, or policy violations before publication, allowing data to be filtered by division, department, service type, requested amount, and outcome.

Out of the initial 804 complaints, divisional breakdowns indicate the highest volume came from Dhaka with 430 complaints, followed by Chattogram with 167, Rajshahi with 44, Khulna with 43, Sylhet with 38, Rangpur with 37, Mymensingh with 30, and Barishal with 15, with 18% of complainants reporting that they outright refused to pay the bribe.
