Sheikh Rabiul Alam, Minister in charge of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping, said, for almost 18 years, an unelected fascist government was in this country. During this long period, the fascist government has not made any visible progress. I have not seen any development progress.
The previous government has spent 263,000 crore taka on railways in the last 18 years. It has only wasted. It has spent unnecessary money. It has looted. As a result, it has not progressed as it should have. It has stagnated, lagged behind in some places, and has been destroyed in some places. The fascist government has looted and pushed the country towards destruction.
He said this in response to questions from journalists after visiting the Central Locomotive Factory in Parbatipur Upazila of Dinajpur on Tuesday afternoon.
Sheikh Rabiul Alam said, the quality of railway services has not changed over time. There was a government for 18 years, but there was no one to look after it. Efforts are being made to overcome that situation. However, it will take some time to overcome. The Prime Minister is working hard to establish the expected services of the railways.
He also said that 80 more locomotives will be brought to the country. Of these, the purchase of 30 locomotives has been approved by ECNEC. However, a tender will have to be held for their purchase.
State Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping Habibur Rashid, Secretary of the Ministry of Railways Fahimul Islam and other concerned officials were present at the time.
