A day-long "Job Fair 2026" was held at the Ambika Memorial Hall in Faridpur town on Wednesday, creating immediate and prospective employment opportunities for more than a hundred unemployed and job-seeking youths.

The event was organized by the non-governmental development organization "Amra Kaj Kori" (AKK) with the comprehensive support of the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) under the framework of the Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment (RAISE) Project. Faridpur District Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Magistrate Mazharul Islam officially inaugurated the fair as the chief guest by cutting a ribbon and releasing balloons and festoons.

Presided over by the Executive Director of AKK, M.A. Jalil, the inaugural session was attended by a host of government officials and dignitaries, including Faridpur Sadar UNO Meshkatul Jannat Rabeya, Principal of the Technical Training Center Engineer Md. Akhteruzzaman, and Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development A.S.M. Moinul Ahsan. Other notable attendees included Shasti Pada Ray, Assistant Director of the District Employment and Manpower Office, Azharul Islam, Founder of Faridpur Development Agency (FDA), Shimul Kumar Chakraborty, Credit Program Director of AKK, and Ranjit Kumar Seal, Coordinator of the RAISE project.

The fair featured multiple stalls from various industrial and commercial enterprises across the district, allowing job seekers to submit their resumes, participate in on-the-spot interviews, and receive immediate recruitment guidelines. According to the organizers, approximately 600 young men and women who had previously received specialized trade training under the RAISE project participated in the fair. The event served as a direct bridge, connecting these skilled individuals with prominent corporate and informal employers to facilitate direct matching with current labor market vacancies.

Addressing the inaugural discussion, the speakers emphasized that transforming the youth into a skilled workforce and integrating them into the mainstream economy is crucial for the country's sustainable development. They highly commended the initiative and urged more public and private organizations to extend their cooperation in absorbing trained youths into dignified professions.

The organizers concluded the event by noting that the fair generated an overwhelming response among local job aspirants, successfully paving the way for over a hundred young individuals to kickstart their professional careers.
