DU Pro-VC 's meeting with Japanese delegation

During the meeting, they discussed the progress of the project titled "Water Quality Monitoring and Purification Technology to Control Health Risks Due to Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in Dhaka Metropolitan Area" being implemented with the financial and technical assistance of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The meeting discussed various project activities, water quality monitoring, application of effective technologies to address the risk of antimicrobial resistance, and future activities of the project. At the same time, discussions were held on strengthening research-based initiatives to identify and control AMR-related health risks in water in the Dhaka metropolitan area.
During the meeting, various possibilities for further strengthening research cooperation between Dhaka University and relevant universities in Japan and conducting joint research activities in the future were also discussed.
Professor Dr. Kojo Watanabe of Ehime University, Japan, led by Professor Dr. Toru Watanabe, Dr. Masateru Nishiyama and Mr. Yuma Hayashi of Yamagata University met with the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) of Dhaka University, Professor Dr. Abdus Salam, who is in charge of the routine duties of the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, at his office on Sunday.
Professor Dr. Anwar Hossain, Department of Fisheries Science, Dhaka University, was present at the time.
