'Judgement should not be handed over by accused's friend' : Wife of Adv Shaheen fears nepotism in justice, not to appoint Moniruzzaman as District Judge in Bogrua demanded

Former General Secretary of Bogura Sadar Police Station BNP and professional lawyer late Advocate Mahbub Alam Shaheen's wife, Mosha Akhter Jahan Shilpi, has expressed extreme fear of nepotism and violation of impartiality in the trial process of the murder case.
At the same time, she has made a heartfelt appeal to the government not to post Judge Md. Moniruzzaman as the District and Sessions Judge of Bogra, alleging deep friendship with the main accused in the case.
Akhter Jahan Shilpi raised these allegations in a written statement at a press conference organized at the Bogra Press Club on Saturday noon.
She said that her husband was brutally murdered by terrorist Aminul Islam, a Bogura Awami League cadre, former general secretary of the Motor Owners Association and former councilor of Ward No. 15, and his associate cadre force. The case is currently in its final stages. 24 witnesses have already given their testimonies and the verdict will be given immediately after the arguments.
Shilpi. expressed deep concern and said, "I have come to know that the matter of appointing a judge named Md. Moniruzzaman as a district and sessions judge in Bogra is going on. He has previously served as the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Bogura . During that time, he developed deep friendship and affinity with some accused and terrorist Aminul Islam. He even used to go fishing in Aminul Islam's fish farm and was present as his special entourage at official functions of Rajshahi Sarada Police Academy."
It was also mentioned in the press conference that during the student movement last July, the employees of the Bogra judgeship and the protesting student movement blocked Judge Md. Moniruzzaman in his chamber due to his Awami League political involvement.
Shilpi who appeared before reporters in the hope of getting justice after facing threats to kill her three children, said, "If such a controversial judge takes charge as the district and sessions judge of Bogra, then I and my family will never get justice in the ongoing case of my husband's murder. We, the people of Bogra, cannot accept such a judge."
She drew the attention of the Bangladesh government through the media and strongly demanded that Judge Md. Moniruzzaman not be posted as a district and sessions judge in Bogura .
