To bolster operational readiness, maintain public order, and enhance swift response capabilities during riot situations, the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP commenced a five-day specialized training program titled "Public Order Incident Response and Riot Control Training" at the Ansar and VDP Academy in Shafipur.

The specialized training session, running from November 1 to November 5, 2026, features a cohort of 118 trainees, comprising 11 BCS officers, 10 members of the Special Response Battalion (SRB), and 97 Ansar Battalion personnel.

A five-member expert delegation from the Turkish Gendarmerie is conducting the training program, led by Gendarmerie Colonel Bora Tasdelen, Counselor for Security, Cooperation, and Internal Affairs at the Turkish Embassy in Bangladesh. The team also includes three senior instructors from the Turkish Gendarmerie General Command and an interpreter.

On the inaugural day, Sunday , Gendarmerie First Lieutenant Oguzhan Karatas outlined the objectives, core modules, and methodology of the five-day curriculum. The daily six-hour training schedule combines theoretical instruction, practical drills, scenario-based modules, and operational demonstrations.

Theoretical lectures were held at the Bir Bikram Elahi Box Auditorium on the first day, followed by practical physical instruction at the Academy Parade Ground, where trainees were given hands-on demonstrations of tactical self-defense maneuvers and crowd-control formations.

Ansar officials stated that integrating modern tactics and international practical knowledge with existing operational experience will significantly fortify the force's overall preparedness. The specialized training is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP's operational capacity to handle public disturbances, quell sudden violence, and maintain national internal security.
