Two arrested in Daulatdia

Goalando Ghat Police has arrested Jhumur Begum (42) and her husband Awami League leader Abdul Jalil Fakir.

They were both hiding since August 7.

Police arrested Jhumur Begum from Nirala Boding in Daulatdia railway station on Sunday at around 8pm. At that time two bottles of beer and one bottle of foreign liquor were recovered from his room.

Earlier on Saturday, the police arrested Jalil Fakir from the same boding around two o'clock on Saturday night.

Jalil Fakir is the son of the deceased Saizuddin Fakir of Daulatdia Sorap Mondal Para.

He was a former president of ward no 1 Awami League of Daulatdia Union and an elected UP member of that ward.

Jhumur Begum worked as the president of the helpless women's unity organization and an activist of the Uttara Foundation. The chairman of the Uttara Foundation was former DIG Habibur Rahman of the Dhaka Range. It is alleged that Jhumur caused great domination in Jhumur's sexuality and controlled drugs and women business. In this way they own the money. Alishan house was built in Savar, Dhaka. There are also many adventurous resources in the area.

Goalando Ghat Police Station OC Mohammad Rakibul Islam said a case has been filed against Jhumur Begum under the Drug Control Act. He also has a human trafficking case against him in court.

Besides, Jalil Fakir was arrested as a joint accused in the attack on the students who were filed at Goaland Ghat police station on December 5. Both of them were sent to the Rajbari court on Sunday afternoon.
