Sunamganj RHD Workers Union's human chain, protest march demanding 7 points

A human chain and protest program was held by the Central Executive Council of the Road and Highway Workers Union demanding the resolution of the salary issue of master roll employees, finalization of the policy for 27 cases, and inclusion of 7 cases in the 27 cases.
The human chain and protest march was held in front of the Roads and Highways Department in the district city at 11 am on Sunday.
Speaking at the human chain program, Bangladesh Road and Highway Workers Union Sunamganj District Parliament President Md. Mashiur Rahman, General Secretary Nazmul Hasan and Bangladesh Road and Highway Workers Union Sunamganj District Parliament Advisor Sudip Chandra Das.
Present at the time were Obaidur Rahman, Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Road and Highway Workers Union Sunamganj District Parliament, Member Kabir, and all the members of the Sunamganj District Parliament.
The seven demands include pension policies for workers and employees included in cases 27 and 7 should be finalized as soon as possible from the date of their first joining., all master roll workers and employees of the SAWJ will have to be paid on a monthly basis from the code "3211104- Ancillary Organization" ; all master roll employees of the SAO should be brought to the revenue department immediately, relaxing their age and educational qualifications ; necessary arrangements should be made for the prompt permanent placement of all regular workers and employees of the 3rd and 4th classes and for their promotion on the basis of merit the inclusion of master roll workers working at the SAWJ in the daily temporary workers policy/2025 should be stopped ;the positions of the working master roll workers of the SAWJ should be confirmed, the organizational structure should be restructured in coordination with trade union representatives, and a proposal should be sent to the ministry and a complete database of workers and employees working in the development projects of the Public Works Department should be prepared and brought to the revenue sector after the project is handed over, and car rentals through vendors should be stopped in all development projects.
The speakers said that the salary problems of the workers and employees of the Roads and Highways Department should be resolved and included in cases 27 and 7. Our authorities should act as soon as possible.
I demand that workers and employees be given regular jobs through discipline.
The speakers also said, we have been working with three levels of employees, master roll, ward charge, and regular, since before independence.
We have been presenting our demands to higher authorities for a long time, but there is no solution.
In 2019, more than three thousand employees were regularized after receiving the verdict from the Honorable High Court. In the same vein, Master Roll employees also received the verdict from the High Court. However, we are seeing a delay in implementing this verdict from our head office. We are not being regularized.
Most of us are employees of the master roll. They are playing a silent role, ignoring their demands.
That is why we are holding a human chain program on behalf of our central committee.
As per central instructions, we will observe this program for three consecutive days.
Then, on October 23, I will submit a memorandum to the Honorable Chief Engineer through the Deputy Commissioner, and then on October 26, I will submit it to the Honorable Secretary.
We will continue our program until our demands are met.
