State Minister for Public Admin and Food Abdul Bari injured in road accident in Bogura

State Minister for Public Administration and Food Abdul Bari's car lost control and fell into a crop field on the side of the road while trying to save a pedestrian. The state minister narrowly escaped a major accident. He suffered injuries to his knee and both legs in the accident. His driver was also injured. However, the state minister's wife Nazma Begum is unharmed.
The accident occurred around 9 am on Friday in the Haripur area, east of the Kichak Boro Bridge in Shibganj Upazila of Bogra.
It is learned that State Minister Abdul Bari left Dhaka for Joypurhat at around 5:30 am on a two-day official visit. On the way, the driver of the car lost control while trying to save a female pedestrian while crossing the road in the Haripur area. The car immediately skidded off the road and fell into a nearby crop field.
After the accident, local passersby and residents rushed to the scene and rescued the state minister and others from inside the car. The state minister suffered injuries to his knee and both legs in the accident, but was not seriously injured. He was given first aid.
Meanwhile, the female pedestrian injured in the accident was first taken to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex. Later, she was sent to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. The state minister's driver was also injured.
State Minister Abdul Bari said, "We were saved from the accident. The car fell off the road into a crop field and stopped. I suffered pain in my knees and both legs."
After the accident, the State Minister reached Joypurhat and is staying at his home in Kalai Municipality. He is on a scheduled two-day official visit.
Kalai Police Station OC Saidul Islam said, "The car lost control and fell into a crop field while trying to save the pedestrian while he was crossing the road. Police reached the spot after receiving information. The state minister suffered minor injuries. The injured female pedestrian is currently undergoing treatment at Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
