The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced the final results of the 46th BCS, nominating 1,457 candidates for government services.
The results were released on Sunday evening around 6:45pm, confirmed SM Matiur Rahman, PSC’s public relations officer.
The final list of selected candidates is accessible on the PSC’s official website: www.bpsc.gov.bd.
The PSC published the notification for the 46th BCS on Nov 30, 2023. The preliminary examination was held on Apr 26, 2024, with 254,561 candidates participating. The preliminary examination selected 10,638 candidates, according to its results published on May 9, 2024.
The successful candidates were scheduled to sit for the written examination between Aug 28 and Sept 9, 2024. The written exam was postponed on Aug 25 following the fall of the Awami League government on Aug 5.
Citing the need to “eliminate discrimination”, the PSC decided to include an equal number of additional candidates alongside the preliminary passers for the written test.
Along with the previously qualified 10,638 candidates, another 10,759 candidates were declared successful, and the results were published on Nov 27, 2024.
The written examination was originally scheduled to begin on May 8, but it was postponed once again on May 21 in the wake of candidates’ protests.
Later, the written test for compulsory subjects of the BCS began on Jul 24 and continued until Aug 3, followed by the written test for subject-specific papers from Aug 10 to 21.
The results of these exams were published on Nov 27, with 4,042 candidates passing. The PSC then began the oral examinations on Dec 28.
