Magura rape victim’s condition worsens
Staff Correspondent
The condition of the eight-year-old rape victim from Magura, who is undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka, worsened on Tuesday as her brain became unresponsive, according to the medical board overseeing her treatment.
The child’s Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score, which measures brain responsiveness, has dropped from a normal 15 to just 3 — indicating that she is unresponsive.
Doctors reported slight improvements in the child’s condition on Monday.
Explaining the reason behind the deterioration in her health, medical experts said this might be because of a lack of oxygen caused when she was suffocated after the assault.
The victim’s cousin told reporters that doctors had warned them that her condition was ‘not good’.
