JU to hold five-day cultural event ‘July Gatha’

Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities have outlined several plans to organize a series of events to honor the historic July Uprising and the 36 July fall of Autocrat Hasina, recognized symbolically as a day of defiance against autocracy.
Prof Jamal Uddin, Director of Students’ Counselling and Guidance Centre, confirmed the matter during a press conference, held at 4:15 pm on Wednesday, in the teachers’ lounge of the central cafeteria.
As per the press release, a five-day cultural festival, named 'July Gatha,' has been scheduled to take place at the university's Mukta Mancha from July 29 to August 2, 2025.
Addressing the conference, Prof Jamal Uddin said , “ These events will uphold the spirit of July mass uprising to our students , faculty and other stakeholders of the university.”
“I hope the students will attend , enjoy and assist to make the programme successful,” he added.
