Export-oriented factories allowed to run from August 1

The government of Bangladesh has allowed the operation of export-oriented factories from August 1.

A gazette notification signed by deputy-secretary Md Rezaul Islam of cabinet division confirmed the matter on Friday afternoon.

Earlier, the government has decided to put the country under a 14-day strict lockdown from July 23 to August 5 amid a growing number of Covid-19 cases.
