Daughters killed in fire in Dohar : MP takes responsibility for education

Dhaka-1 (Dohar and Nawabganj) Upazila MP and Dhaka District BNP President Khandaker Abu Ashfaq has taken responsibility for the education of the orphaned children of a husband and wife who were killed in a horrific fire incident in Radhanagar area of Bilashpur in Dohar, Dhaka.
On Sunday at 2 pm, he inquired about the affected families in Radhanagar area of the upazila. During this time, he took responsibility for providing education and housing for the two younger daughters of the deceased Abdus Salam Sikder. He also immediately handed over Tk 50,000 to the two daughters of the deceased.
It is mentioned that a fire broke out in the tin house of Abdus Salam Sikder, who had returned from Saudi Arabia, at around 12:30 am on Friday. At that time, the husband and wife, two daughters and a 5-year-old grandson were staying in the house. Everyone woke up when the fire spread throughout the house. When the owner of the house, Salam, went to turn off the main electrical switch, he got electrocuted and died.
Aynal Sikder (60), the elder brother of the deceased Salam Sikder, said, "Nasima handed over her children to me and tried to get out of the window herself. At that time, her body got stuck in the window. By then, the flames were burning like wildfire. I myself was also injured by the horror of the fire."
It is learnt that the family that was burnt to ashes in the fire has no place to lay their heads. The Salam couple and their two young daughters lived in a single tin house. The two elder daughters are married. They live in their husband's house.
During his visit to Radhanagar at 2 pm on Sunday, MP Abu Ashfaq spoke to the family members of the deceased Salam Sikder and Nasima Begum and expressed his deep condolences to them. He expressed his grief over the tragic incident and said that such an accident is very sad and heartbreaking. May Allah not put anyone in such danger. During this time, he consoled the two orphaned girls by sitting next to them. He assured them of all kinds of cooperation in building a house including their maintenance.
Present at the event were Dohar Upazila BNP President Nazrul Islam Mecher, former Vice President Nurul Islam Bepari, Dhaka District Jubo Dal Senior Vice President Abul Hashem Bepari, local dignitaries, the four daughters and relatives of the deceased Salam.
