Bashundhara Shuvosangha distributes umbrellas among underprivileged children in Kathalia

Underprivileged school children in Kathalia, Jhalakathi received umbrellas in a heartwarming initiative by Bashundhara Shuvosangha on  Wednesday. 

 Umbrellas were distributed among students of 43 No. Paschim Aura Government Primary School in the upazila headquarters.

The distribution ceremony was conducted by Md. Sakibuzzaman Sabur, president of the upazila chapter of Bashundhara Shuvosangha and a journalist. The event was presided over by Headteacher Nur Nasrin.

Chief guest at the event was journalist Faruk Hossain Khan, Barisal Regional Coordinator of The Hunger Project Bangladesh’s Peace Ambassador Network. Special guests included social worker and former school committee president Golam Mostafa, and Md. Abdul Halim, senior journalist and Assistant Professor at Amua Shaheed Raja Degree College.

Among others who spoke at the event were journalists Md. Aminul Islam and Md. Shah Jamal, assistant teachers Taznehar Begum, Rozina Ferdous, Mahbuba Redwan, Salma Sultana, Kamrun Nahar, and Sabinaz Jahan Mousumi, as well as community members Md. Kabir Munshi, Md. Chunnu Munshi, Md. Mamun Hossain, and Md. Siam Hossain, General Secretary of the upazila chapter of Shuvosangha. Students from the school were also present.

Speaking as the chief guest, Faruk Hossain Khan said, “Bashundhara Shuvosangha always stands beside good causes. Distributing umbrellas to these tender-hearted children is a reflection of that commitment. I hope this initiative continues.”

In her presidential remarks, Headteacher Nur Nasrin said, “Many students were unable to attend school on time during rain as they didn’t have umbrellas. Thanks to Bashundhara Shuvosangha’s thoughtful gift, these students will now be able to come to school even in the rain. We sincerely appreciate this generous initiative.”

Upazila Shuvosangha President Md. Sakibuzzaman Sabur said, “We are delighted to support these children through Bashundhara Shuvosangha. We have always supported students and disadvantaged people in the area, guided by the slogan ‘Beside every good cause.’”

This initiative stands as another testament to Bashundhara Shuvosangha’s ongoing commitment to community welfare and educational support.
