3 Bangladeshi Youths arrested for crossing Border into India

Hatibandha, (Lalmonirhat) Correspondent

Three Bangladeshi youths were arrested while trying to cross the border into India at the Tinbigha Corridor on Thursday afternoon. They were detained by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and later handed over to Bangladesh Rifles (BGB) during a flag meeting.

The detained individuals are identified as Saiful Islam (25) from Cumilla, Md. Sajjadur Rahman (40) from Chuadanga, and Khokeshwar Ray (40) from Panchagarh. Their reasons for attempting to cross the border are still under investigation.

After being handed over, the trio was transferred to their respective police stations for legal proceedings. Both BGB and BSF have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining border security through coordinated efforts.

The Tinbigha area is known as a sensitive border zone, with recent reports indicating an increase in illegal crossing attempts. Regular flag meetings between the two forces help ease tensions and ensure peace along the border.
