Young man dies in lightning strike in Gobindagonj

A young man named Ershad Mandal (28) was killed in a lightning strike at Gobindaganj in Gaibandha. He is the son of Bachu Mia of Ramchandrapur village in Harirampur union of the upazila.
The incident took place at Ramchandrapur village in Harirampur union of the upazila on Tuesday (June 21).
According to family sources, Ershad was fishing in a pond next to his house. He died on the spot when lightning struck with light rain.
Chairman of Harirampur Union Parishad Azharul Islam Biplob confirmed the matter. Meanwhile, Gobindganj Upazila Parishad Chairman and Upazila Awami League President Abdul Latif Pradhan and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Arif Hossain provided financial assistance of Tk 10,000 for the burial of the deceased.
