We beat India before, we can do it now

Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana Joty said that they are confident they can beat India in the Women’s Asia Cup semifinals, scheduled at Dambulla today.

Bangladesh have so far played against India 22 times and managed to earn three wins while lost in the remaining 19 games.

India, who are still unbeaten in the ongoing event, are considered clear favourites more so after earning a 5-0 win over the Tigress in their last Bangladesh tour earlier this year to play a five-match T20I series.

However, Nigar Sultana feels they can still change the table like they did in the past.

“It's not about what people think about us. It's about what we believe and what we are. So, this is the thing and I have a lot of belief in my team,” Nigar told the reporters ahead of their semifinal.

“I know we have beaten them (India) before and we can do that again but it depends on how we execute ourselves in the middle,” she added.

“If we want to win against this particular team (India) we will have to play as a team and every person will have to contribute and that means not only the playing eleven but the whole team of fifteen needs to contribute,” she concluded.
