The 6th Upazila Parishad election of Fulgazi was held in the first phase of 32 polling stations on Wednesday.

Israt Jahan Lipi, election officer of Fulgazi upazila, said that 27.76% votes were collected out of 29,330 out of 28,410 valid voters out of 1,05,672 voters in this upazila.

The situation in all the polling stations was peaceful and normal except for a few polling stations with adequate law enforcement presence.

In the upazila election, Harun Majumdar was elected as the chairman by getting 27,635 votes in the Cup Piritch symbol. His rival candidate Zafar Ullah Bhuiyan got 775 votes from the Shrimp Fish Marka.

And Anil Banik won the post of Vice-Chairman privately by getting 11,089 votes out of 5 candidates. The woman vice-chairman was elected unopposed as there were no contesting candidates.

Among the other candidates, lock symbol got 7265, glasses symbol 3891, tubewell symbol 3197 and airplane symbol 2688 votes.Feni Deputy Commissioner and Feni Superintendent of Police Zakir Hasan visited some important election centers. At this time Tanya Bhuiyar, Nirbahi Officer of Fulgazi Upazila was present.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Fulgazi Police Station Nizam Uddin said that sufficient members of law and order forces were deployed in all the high-risk polling stations of the election.

60 BGB members, 301 police, 17 in each center and a total of 554 Ansar members were deployed in 32 centers to maintain law and order situation in the election. Sonagazi Thana Police Investigation Russell along with Fulgazi Thana SI Sakkur Police Source visited the mobile court.

Media workers of Feni district observed the journalist and said what is the rationale of this election by wasting the money of the state. Where participation or festive atmosphere is not! I visited every center and saw that the turnout was not much.
