Upazila Parishad polls : 58 aspirants file nominations in Sylhet

A total 58 aspirants have filed their nomination papers to contest the first phase of elections to 4 upazilas in Sylhet.
As per the schedule, elections to 4 upazilas in Sylhet will be held in the first phase.
Senior Election office of Sylhet Election office Md Jillur Rahman told reporters that nominations were submitted online.
“A total of 28 aspirants submitted nominations for the post of chairman, 20 for vice chairman and 10 for vice chairman reserved for women,” he said.
He said that the EC made it mandatory for all the aspirants of upazila elections to submit nomination papers online.
As per the schedule, scrutiny will be held on April 17 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 22.
