
UNO Planting Timber Trees at Betagi Girls’ School and College Campus Environment Discussion, Tree Plantation, Sapling Distribution, and Cultural Program

In Betagi, Barguna, as part of the two-month-long tree plantation and sapling distribution program under the theme “Decorate Bangladesh with Green” organized by the Nature-Life Club, a tree plantation, sapling distribution, environmental discussion, and cultural program was held on Thursday (28 August) at 11:00 AM at the Betagi Girls’ School and College campus.
The discussion session at the college auditorium was presided over by Principal Md. Shaheen. The chief guest was Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hare Krishna Adhikari, and the special guest was Assistant Commissioner (Land) Bipul Sikdar.
Speakers included: Channel i Barguna District Correspondent & Nature-Life Club Coordinator Hasanur Rahman Jhantu, Weekly Bishkhali Editor Abdus Salam Siddiqui, Nature-Life Club Advisor Md. Mostak Ahmed, SUJAN (Citizens for Good Governance) President Saidul Islam Montu, Upazila Forest Officer Md. Belayet Hossain, Assistant Head Teacher Abdul Rahim Hawladar, environmental activist Lion Md. Shamim Sikdar, and journalists Md. Mohsin Khan, Kamal Hossain, Arif Sujon, and Imrat Hossain Forkan.
Following the discussion, students, teachers, and guests performed cultural programs. The event concluded with the plantation of fruit-bearing, timber, and medicinal saplings in the school campus, along with the distribution of palm tree saplings to over a hundred students in Jhophkhali village of the Upazila.
