Two sisters died after drowning in Burichang pond

Two sisters died after drowning in pond water in Panchora village of Cumillas Burichang Upazila Rajapur Union. The former chairman of Panchora village, Birmuktijoddha Alhaj Shahjahan and Union A'League president Siraj Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
Two sisters Umme Kulchum Tamanna (9) and Khadija Akhter (7) drowned in the pond adjacent to Panchora Dakshin Kalem Para Mosque of Upazila on Wednesday evening . The family did not find much after searching around the house. Later the locals went down to the pond and searched and rescued the two sisters and took them to Cumilla Medical College Hospital where the working doctors declared them dead.
However, the locals said that their two sisters' necks were sprained. Resident Abul Khair said that the father of the two deceased sisters is Ghatak Hafez Mia. Umm Kulchum was a 5th grade student of Tamanna Panchora Government Primary School and Khadija Akhtar was a 4th grade student of the same school. There was mourning among the teachers and students of the school, parents, relatives and local residents. A black shadow descends.
In the evening, Burichang police station OC Abul Hasanat said, "I have heard about the death of two children drowning in water through journalists. No complaint has been received from the family."
