Two more die of dengue; 1,218 hospitalised

Two more people died of dengue while 1,218 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever in the last in 24 hours till Monday morning.
The death toll from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 188 this year, according to the data of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the deceased, one was reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), while one occurred in Barishal division.
Of the new patients, 256 were admitted to Dhaka North City Corporation, while 169 received treatment in DSCC and 221 from Chattogram division (Out of city corporation). A total of 37,808 dengue cases have been reported since January 1, 2024.
Currently, 3379 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals across the country.
Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record, with 321,179 cases recorded.
