Two housewives, cow die in lightning strikes in Kurigram

A housewife named Taslima Akter (24) and another housewife named Chameli Rani (40) and her one-calf cow died in separate lightning strikes in Chilmari and Ulipur of Kurigram on Friday. They died in these two separate lightning strikes around noon on Friday.
The deceased housewife of Chilmari, Taslima Akhter, is the wife of Imran Hossain Dipu of Charmudafat Kalikapur village of Ashtamirchar union of Chilmari upazila under Dushmara police station.
Locals said that the housewife went to the field to cut grass for her goats around noon on Friday. She was struck by lightning and died on the spot.
In this regard, Dhusmara Police Station OC Ashraful Islam confirmed the matter and said that the body of the deceased has been handed over to the family with permission for burial.
On the other hand, a housewife named Chameli Rani (40) died while grazing her cows and cutting grass for the cows on the bank of the clinic in Madhupur village of Dharanibari union in Ulipur district. At the same time, a bakna cow that was with her was also killed by lightning.
Ulipur Police Station OC Zillur Rahman confirmed the death of the housewife in a lightning strike near the Madhupur Clinic in Dharanibari Union of Ulipur Upazila at around 11:30 am on Friday.
