Two groups of BNP called a public meeting at Goalando in Rajbari. This has created anxiety in the public mind.

On January 5, this public meeting was convened at the heart of the city of Goalando, the martyred freedom fighter Fakir Mohiuddin Anshar's club premises.

A press conference was held on Wednesday at the upazila and municipal BNP party office adjacent to the upazila railway station and Upazila BNP, municipal and organizational leaders announced the rally.

Goalando Upazila BNP Senior Vice President Ayub Ali, General Secretary Mosharraf Ahmed, Municipal BNP President Abul Kashem Mondal and others spoke at the press conference.

Before this, on December 20, another part of BNP (leaders supported by Khayyam) called a public meeting at the temporary office of BNP in the railway station area on January 5 at Shaheed freedom fighter Fakir Mohiuddin Anshar's club square and held a preparatory meeting. Former President of Goland Upazila BNP Sultan Noor Islam Munnu Molla, former General Secretary of Upazila BNP Shahidul Islam Bablu, Adviser of Rajbari District BNP Nazirul Islam Titas and others spoke by announcing the gathering of at least 20 thousand people.

They announced the name of Ali Newaz Mahmud Khayyam, former Member of Parliament of Rajbari-1 Constituency, former President of District BNP and member of Central Executive Committee of BNP as the chief guest in the public meeting.

Meanwhile, in a press conference on Wednesday, the upazila and municipal BNP leaders announced that the public meeting of Khayyam will be prevented on January 5. He joined the reformist BNP from the Workers' Party. If BNP is to be made, Begum Khaleda Zia and Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's approved district and upazila should be led by BNP.

They complained and said that we will not allow any outsider or friend of Awami League to stand in the field in the name of BNP. I will not allow any kind of usurpation, extortion and any work against the interests of the party.

About protesting public meeting, Goalando Upazila BNP former president Sultan Noor Islam Munnu Molla said, we do not want any conflict. I will deal with politics with politics. Leaders will sit and decide again.

He also said that most of our leaders exist in the current and former committees of the district and upazila BNP.

In this regard, Goalando Ghat police station OC Mohammad Rakibul Islam said that although two groups of BNP had called a public meeting at the same place, neither side had informed them in writing.
