Two friends killed as car hits tree in city

Two friends were killed and three others injured as they lost control over their car and hit a roadside tree in the capital's Agargaon area in the early hours of Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Rasel and Md Rabbi while three injured are Biplob, Ratul, and Sagor.

According to the witnesses, they all were roaming in area, riding on a private car. At that time, when theg reached in front of Bangabandhu International Conference Center, they lost control over the steering of the vehicle and hit a roadside tree. All of the five were critically injured.

Locals rescued them and took to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the physicians declared Rasel and Md Rabbi dead.

Three injured were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The witnesses alleged that they were overspeeding, resulting the tragic accident.

Citing locals, Kafrul Police Station sub-inspector Md Johirul Islam said it was assumed that the accident occured due to over speeding.

Legal actions will be taken in this regard, added the SI.
