Truck workers attack anti-discrimination students in Bhuapur

A student named Asamaul was injured in an attack by Bhuyapur truck workers on anti-discrimination students at Bhuyapur in Tangail.
On Monday (September 9) noon, some truck workers made obscene comments to the girls who were with them when they went to the truck station on the way to end the human chain demanding the withdrawal of the transfer of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer. At that time, they got involved in an argument with the students. At one point they ambushed the students. A student named Asmaul, a second year honors student of Ibrahim Khan Government College, Bhuyapur, was seriously injured in the attack. He has been admitted to Bhuyapur Upazila Health Complex.
The students were angered by this incident and protested by blocking the Bhuyapur Dhaka Regional Highway. It stopped all traffic for 2 hours. Upazila Executive Officer Md. Mamunur Rashid, Bhuyapur Police Station Investigation Officer Md. Anwar Hossain, responsible army personnel arrived at the scene.
They asked them to lift the blockade, assuring that the culprits would be punished within the next 24 hours.
