Tourism motel will be set up in Garo hills of Bengal-India border district Sherpur. The secretary of the ministry of civil aviation, transport and tourism Mokammel Hossain visited the feasibility of the proposed place of tourism motel. He visited tourist places under Shrivardi, Jhenaigati and Nalitabari upazilas of the district on Friday.

It is known that on the invitation of Sherpur district development District Commissioner (DC) Sahela Akhtar the secretary visited different tourist places and checked the feasibility of the proposed place of tourist motel of the district.

Chairman of Bangladesh tourism corporation Md Ali Kadar, Bangladesh tourism board chief executive officer Abu Taher Muhammad Jaber, civil aviation and tourism ministry additional secretary (Planning) Sukesh Kumar Sarkar, civil aviation and tourism secretary's PS AHM Jameri Hasan, Sherpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sahela Akhtar, additional deputy commissioner (General) Muktadirul Ahmed, upazila nirbahi officer and assistant commissioner (Land) of the concerned upazila, negarat deputy collector Md Asif Rahman, assistant commissioner (Tourism Cell) Sanaul Morshed and officials of different departments were present.

When the secretary of the ministry of civil aviation, transport and tourism Mokammel Hossain came to visit Ghazni Abakash Center the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sahela Akhter, additional deputy commissioner (General) Muktadirul Ahmed, upazila chairman SM Abdullahel Warez Naim and upazila nirbahi officer Farooq Al Masud and others greeted with flowers.

If tourist motels are established in Garo Hills, tourists from different parts of the country will not have to come back from that border area and spend the night in Sherpur district town.

As a result, by reducing the robbery, the locals think that the tourists will not suffer. It will increase the interest of tourists and increase the income of the government treasury. The reputation of Sherpur district will spread faster in the country and abroad; many more added. Local people thanked DC Sahela Akhter for his efforts, as well as the secretary of the ministry of civil aviation, transport and tourism Mokammel Hossain expressed gratitude.
