Tk 90 lakh mugged from businessman in Keraniganj

A group of muggers impersonating as DB men robbed a businessman of his Tk 90 lakh at South Keraniganj on the outskirts of the capital on Sunday.

Shahabuddin Kabir, Additional Superintendent of Police (Keraniganj Circle) of Dhaka, confirmed it to this Correspondent.

The incident occurred at Bhawarbhita in Basta Union at noon.
Police said that the muggers numbering eight to 10 intercepted the way of Keramat Ali, owner of ‘Marfat Ali Store’ at Darigaon Bazar when he was travelling by his private car.

The criminals having walkie talkies in their hands introduced themselves as the members of Detective Branch (DB).

And one stage, they snatched the amount of money from the businessman, said police.

Being informed, a team of police rushed to the spot.

About condition of Keramat Ali, police said that he remains unhurt.
