Tk 77 lakh deposited in exchequer after land mutation payment made cashless

After the government made cashless payment mandatory for land mutation fees starting Saturday, about Tk 77 lakh had been deposited in the exchequer till 3:00 pm on Sunday .

An individual has to pay total Tk 1,170 for mutation that include court fee Tk 20, notice issuance fee Tk 50, record revision fee Tk 1,000 and ledger fee Tk 100.

The money was transacted cashless through a mobile wallet and internet banking system.

The Land Ministry had ordered not to accept fees in cash after September 30.

About 6,200 QR-codes enabled duplicate carbon receipt (DCR) of mutation were issued to service seekers and the government received Tk 69 lakh for the service.

On the other hand, about 11,500 new applications were submitted and the government earned about Tk 8 lakh, reads a press release.

It takes a maximum 28-working days for mutation after the submission of individual application. An expatriate can get the service within nine to 12 working days.

The Land Ministry receives 22 lakh to 25 lakh applications on an average each year.
