Tk 2.8 crore toll collected in 24 hrs at Bangabandhu bridge

To celebrate Eid-ul-Azha, people have started entering to the northern region from various districts including the capital Dhaka. As a result, traffic pressure has increased on Bangabandhu Bridge.
More than 30,000 vehicles have crossed this bridge in the last 24 hours. More than Tk 2 crore 82 lakh was collected.
On Thursday, Bangabandhu Bridge authority said that 30,834 vehicles crossed the bridge from Tuesday (June 11) 12:00 am to Wednesday (June 12) 12:00 am. The total toll collection was Tk 2,82,72,950.
Out of these, 15,720 vehicles crossed at Bangabandhu Bridge east toll plaza and Tk 1,40,26,950 was collected while Tk 1,42,46,000 toll was collected against 15,114 vehicles crossing the west toll plaza of the bridge.
Ahsanul Kabir Pavel, Executive Engineer of Bangabandhu Bridge Authority, confirmed these information.
