Nahid Islam, Convenor of the National Citizen Party (NCP), stated that those responsible for the violent incident in Gopalganj must be swiftly arrested.
“This departure is not the final one .we will return to Gopalganj again. If alive, we will reach every village of Gopalganj,” he declared.
He further added, “We will completely free the land and people of Gopalganj from the Awami League, and we will not return home until the people are permanently liberated.”
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a street rally organized at Janata Bank intersection in Faridpur city on Thursday.
He continued, “The July march against the misdeeds of Gopalganj will not be stopped. We will conclude the nationwide march by August 3. We are here to fight for Faridpur. Gopalganj has now become a sanctuary for fascism and devils.”
Nahid reiterated, “The July march against the misdeeds of Gopalganj will not be halted. We are determined to finish this march across the country by August 3. People of Faridpur, we are here to fight for you.”
Earlier, NCP leaders arrived in Faridpur and marched from the Circuit House to the rally stage. The event was attended by central leaders as well as members and supporters from different units of the district and upazilas.
Among those present were: Dr. Tasnim Zara, Senior Joint Secretary of NCP Central Committee, Samanta Sharmin, Senior Joint Convenor Hasnat Abdullah, Chief Organizer for the Southern Region, Sarjis Alam, Chief Organizer for the Northern Region Nasir Uddin Patawary Neelima Daula, Faridpur Coordinator of NCP , Mohammad Riaz, Convenor of Faridpur Student Movement Against Discrimination and others.
