From Tuesday morning, 7,097 officers and employees of the Railway Paksey Division went on strike and held a human chain, assembly, train blockade and protest march. These programs have been taken to protest the obstruction of government construction work, bribery of Assistant Executive Engineer Gautam Bishas and Trolleyman Likhon and demand fair trial. Ward Councilor No. 8 of Rajbari Municipality Mahbubur Rahman Palash as one and Kausar as accused No. 10/12. Divisional Assistant Engineer (AEN-Rajbari) Gautam Biswas filed case no. 1, Tang-12.09.2022 at Rajbari police station on Monday.

According to Divisional Engineer/1 Najib Qaiser of Railway Pakshi Division and the statement filed at the police station, Chief Minister recently gave money to Mujib centenary under Divisional Engineer/1 Najib Qaiser. In that sense, under the supervision of Gautam Biswas, Assistant Executive Engineer at Rajbari of Paksey Division, the access fencing work of Rajbari station is ongoing.

In the meantime, Rajbari-1 Constituency MP Kazi Keramat Ali wished to inspect the ongoing fencing work. In this situation, on the morning of September 12/22, Assistant Executive Engineer Gautam Biswas along with railway employees started measuring the distance from the rail line to carry out flagging work of fencing on Bridge No. 83 and A4 loop line towards Suryanagar of Rajbari Railway Station Yard.

At that time, 10/12 people including Kausar came and bribed Gautam Bishas and Trolleyman Likhon under the leadership of Mahbubur Rahman Palash, Ward No. 8 Councilor of Rajbari Municipality. When this matter was immediately known at all levels of the Paksey department, anger arose among the officials and workers and labor leaders. Later, on Monday night, the movement was called at all levels of the Paksey division.

In continuation of this, from Tuesday morning, 797 officers-employees and labor leaders under Divisional Engineer/1 Najib Qaiser of Railway Paksey Division went on a day-long strike at Paksey Divisional Office Square, Rajbari Station Square and Morakganj at various places including human blockade, protest rally, train blockade and protest march.

He demanded exemplary punishment for the criminals. Paksey Divisional Bridge Engineer Abdur Rahim, Iw Abu Tauhid Suman, Labor League Paksey Branch General Secretary Nazrul Islam, Kausar Zaman, Mamun, Abul Bashar, Fariduzzaman and others spoke in these programs. The speakers announced that the strike will continue until justice is done for obstructing government work and bribing working officials.
