The School Management Committee has suspended arrested five teachers and a peon of Nehal Uddin Pilot Girls' High School for their alleged involvement in question paper leak in SSC examination in Kurigram's Bhurungamari upazila.

The decision of their suspension was taken on Thursday (September 22, 2022), Khalilur Rahman, acting headmaster of the school, confirmed our Lalmonirhat correspondent tonight (September 25, 2022).

However, they are yet to take any decision regarding the fugitive Office Assistant Abu Hanif, he added.

The suspended school teachers are: Lutfar Rahman, headmaster and examination centre secretary of the school, teachers Rasel Ahmed, Jobayer Hossain, Hamidul Islam, and Sohel Chowdhury and Peon Sujan Mia.

They are currently in the district jail in Kurigram.

The acting headmaster said if any other teacher and employee are got arrested in the question leak incident, they too will be suspended.

The decision was taken at the meeting of the school management committee, he added.

Mahmudur Rahman Rujen, president of the school management committee who is also the chairman of Bhurungamari Sadar Union Parishad, said the school management committee's meeting was delayed as he is ill and undergoing treatment at home.

Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Bhurungamari Police Station, said, a case has been registered in the police facility naming seven persons and 10-12 unnamed in connection with the question leak.

They are conducting drives in all possible places to arrest absconding office assistant Abu Hanif, he said, adding that the court fixed September 29 for the hearing of remand prayer against the arrested headmaster of the school.
