
Special operation by Coast Guard on southern waterways ahead of Eid

On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, Bangladesh Coast Guard South Zone has launched a special operation to strengthen security on the southern waterways on Monday.
This information was provided in a press release by Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid on Tuesday.
According to the press release, to ensure public safety, the Coast Guard has intensified patrols at important launch, boat, and ferry terminals such as Ilisha, Kheyaghat, Veduria, Nazirpur, Choumuhani in Bhola; Majuchowdhury Hat, Alexander in Lakshmipur; DC Ghat, Ulania, Puratan Hizla in Barisal; Alipur, Patuakhali, Kalapara, Boushia in Patuakhali; Tamruddin, Ram Newaz in Noakhali; and Kathachhira including Patharghata in Barguna.
As part of the operation, special security measures have been taken—public awareness miking, leaflet distribution, searching suspicious individuals and vessels, and scanning passengers' bags.
"Since its establishment, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has been relentlessly working to ensure the overall security of the coastal and riverside areas. The force will continue regular patrols, joint, and special operations to prevent illegal activities and ensure the safety of waterways."
