Social worker Lablu renovated road using public monry in Manda
Md Rezaul Islsm, Naogaon
Prominent social worker and Mainam Union Vice President BNP SM Lablu has successfully renovated about one kilometre of road in Manda, Naogaon, using public funds.
The initiative was driven by the efforts of thousands of people in the community.
The road leading to the Mainam Union village has been neglected for a long time, making it difficult for vehicles and transport carrying agricultural products to access the area. This has caused significant hardship for thousands of families in the village, especially in terms of transportation and healthcare access.
Local public representatives and the administration had not taken action to renovate the road, which further exacerbated the situation. In response, Lablu decided to undertake the renovation himself, financing the project and employing 10-12 workers along with vacuums and tractors.
With the road’s renovation, residents from Para Village and surrounding areas can now benefit from improved communication and transportation. They can market their agricultural products more easily and transport patients to medical facilities.
Resident Mahidul Hasan emphasized the importance of the public road, noting that heavy rains had caused further damage and rendered it unsafe for travel, especially during the monsoon season. Schoolchildren, in particular, were at risk due to the condition of the road.
Lablu has urged wealthy individuals to support similar initiatives in the community. Anisur Rahman, the chairman of the local Union Parishad, praised the efforts, stating that the road renovation was essential and expressing gratitude to everyone involved in the initiative.
