A two-day training workshop on cow rearing, cattle nutrition, goat-sheep and poultry rearing has been completed with the aim of improving the socio-social and life standards of the backward small ethnic groups living in the plains at Nakla upazila of Sherpur district on Thursday.

The training was held by two batches. At least 60 farmers have been given this training in the auditorium of Upazila Livestock Office. The two batches (Monday 13th May to Tuesday 15th May) and (Wednesday 14th May to Thursday 16th May) in 2 batches among 30 small ethnic group's farmers was participant this training per batch.

A closing program was organized by Upazila Livestock Office on Thursday afternoon. The training program funded by Integrated Livestock Development Project.

Upazila Livestock Officer (ULO) Dr Muhammad Ishaq Ali presided and Livestock Extension Officer Dr Sujan Mia conducted the program. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sadia Ummul Banin present as the chief guest and Zilla Parishad Member Md Sanoar Hossain present as the special guest in the program.

ULO Dr Muhammad Ishaq Ali, LEO Dr Sujan Mia, Sub Assistant Livestock Officer (SALO) Md Asaduzzaman and SALO Md Shahidul Islam conducted different sessions as the resource persons.

Suvash Chandra Biswas President of Tribal Welfare Association Nakla Upazila Unit, GS Ramchandra Biswas, members Nimai Chandra Biswas, Nandu Chandra Biswas, Prafulla Marak, Nipen Chandra Biswas and others small ethnic groups farmer as trainees were present.

ULO Dr Mohammad Ishaq Ali said that the trainees will be able to benefit financially in addition to the overall development of their farm by using the knowledge gained from the training on cow rearing, cattle nutrition, goat-sheep and poultry rearing.
