SI's father, mother found slaughtered at Jatrabari

A man and his wife has been slaughtered at a house in the capital's Jatrabari area.

The incident happened any time on Wednesday night to early Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Shafiqur Rahman, 60, and his wife Farida Yasmin, 50.

Jatrabari Police Station inspector Md Touhidul Haque Mamun said the couple lived on the first floor of a four-storyed building at West Momenbag. Shafiqur Rahman was the owner of the building. The couple's only son Imon is SI of police's special branch. He went to his grandfather's house on Wednesday and his wife to her father's house.

"Getting information, a police team went to the house this morning and recovered the bodies of the couple, which bore several injury marks. Farida's body was found in their bedroom and Shafiqur's body was found in the parking which is on the ground floor.

"The couple has been killed any time at night, " the inspector added.

The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Md Iqbal Hossain, deputy commissioner of police's Wari division, said, "It is not clear yet whether it is a robbery incident or pre-planned murder. But all almiras of the house were found opened."
