Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has launched shuttle bus service from Tongi in Gazipur to Uttara Diabari Metrorail Station.

This bus service will be provided daily from 7 am to 8 pm. In the first phase bus service has been started from Tongir Station Road to Uttara Diabari Metro Rail Station.

Later, this service will be launched from Tongir Station Road to Elevated Express Farmgate, said the BRTC authorities. On Thursday at around 12 noon, this bus service was inaugurated by the Member of Parliament of Gazipur-2 Constituency in Tongir Station Road area. Zahid Ahsan Russell.

After the inauguration, the member of parliament Russell said to journalists, 'This service of BRTC was running from Abdullahpur in the capital to Uttara Diabari metro railway station. The residents of Gazipur and Tongi were deprived of the benefits of metro rail.

This bus service has added a new dimension to the service. Member of Parliament Russell also said, "We have demanded the extension of the metro rail service from Uttara Diabari to Shibbari in Gazipur via Tongi to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina."

General Manager of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) Major Nizam Uddin, Zoar Sahara Bus Depot Manager and Operations of BRTC were present at the opening ceremony.

Kamruzzaman, Gazipur Bus Depot Manager (Operation) Rakibul Hasan Shubo, Gazipur Heritage and Development President Engineer Md. Shamsul Haque and others. Major Nizam Uddin, general manager of BRTC said, '11 shuttle bus services have been started from Thursday.

A bus will leave every 10 minutes. About one lakh passengers will enjoy this facility every day. This service will be operated by 11 BRTC shuttle buses from morning to night. Passengers will have to pay a fare of Tk 22 from Tongi Station Road to Uttara Diabari in the first phase of this project.
