Sever diplomatic ties with India if necessary: Mamunul Haque

Aminul Islam, Kishoreganj

'Sever diplomatic relations with India if necessary, as it threatens the peace of Bangladesh," remarked Maulana Mamunul Haque, Secretary-General of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish.

He made this statement while addressing a public gathering organized by the Kishoreganj district branch of Khelafat Majlish on Saturday afternoon.

During his speech, Mamunul Haque strongly criticized the widespread corruption and irregularities under the leadership of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Awami League government. He stated that Bangladesh would not allow the establishment of an Indian-backed Hindutva regime. He also warned that if needed, the people of the country would once again mobilize and surround Shapla Square in protest.

The public gathering, held at the Azimuddin High School grounds in Kishoreganj, was presided over by Maulana Abdul Karim, President of Khelafat Majlish, Kishoreganj district branch. Special guests included Maulana Abul Hasnat Jalali, Central Committee Organizational Secretary; Maulana Ataullah Alim, Joint Secretary-General; former Central Committee member Abdul Momen Shahjahan; Maulana Khairul Islam Thakur, Senior Vice-President of Kishoreganj district branch and Maulana Zubayer Ahmed, General Secretary of the district branch. Central President of Chhatra Majlish, Kamal Uddin, along with other district and upazila-level leaders and activists also attended.
