Seven cows die of unknown disease in Shahjadpur

Seven cows out of 7 in a farm died due to unknown disease at Shahjadpur in Sirajganj on Monday nigjt. 7 cows of the farm died within 24 hours. The minimum market price of 7 cows is around Tk 18-20 lakh.

The incident took place in the farm of Haji Abdur Rahman (Raham), son of deceased Zulmat Sheikh of Sarkarpara village of Shahjadpur Upazila Potazia Union. Farmer Rahm's family is now despondent and disoriented as all the cows in the farm suddenly die of an unknown disease.

Farmer Haji Abdur Rahman (Raham) "said" that every day after feeding the cows in the morning, the cows start shivering and lie down shivering and then die. After 2 to 3 hours my cows died.

Meanwhile, a team of the Upazila Livestock Department was seen working to investigate and test the cause of the sudden death of the farm cow around 11 o'clock on Monday night.

In this regard, Shahjadpur Upazila Livestock (Acting) Officer Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman said, initially it is thought that the cows died due to food poisoning. However, samples have been collected and sent to the lab to find out the real reason.The exact cause of death will be known once the sample test results are available.

After inspecting the farmer's farm, Upazila Executive Officer Md. Tariqul Islam said that the upazila administration will provide all possible support to the affected farmer and an investigation team will be formed to investigate why the cows died suddenly and take necessary measures.
