School book distribution festival held at Domar School

Like all over the country, new books were handed over to the students of primary and secondary schools of the upazila on the first day of the new academic year in a festive atmosphere in Domar of Nilphamari.

Book distribution festival was organized on this occasion in all the educational institutions of the upazila on Sunday (January 1) morning.

Among them, the main program of book distribution was organized at Shaheed Smriti Model Government Primary School, known as Sutikagar, an educational institution of the upazila. Upazila Chairman Tofail Ahmed, Upazila Executive Officer Mr. Jannatul Ferdous Happy were present in the event. Upazila Secondary Education Officer Shakerina Begum, Upazila Education Officer Amir Hossain, Upazila Women's Vice Chairman Roshan Kaniz, life member of the school freedom fighter Abdur Jabbar along with school teachers, students, journalists etc.

Mr. Rashed Mahmud Ujjal, president of the school's managing committee, presided over the program organized in the school premises at 11 a.m. under the supervision of assistant teacher Tanveer Islam Tanmoy.

After that discussion meeting was held. Mr. Khairul Islam Sumon, the head teacher of the school said, I am very happy to hand over the books to the young students on the first day of the new year. He expressed hope that if this trend continues, students will be able to get better results by concentrating on their studies from the beginning of the year.

Meanwhile, book distribution activities were conducted in various schools and madrasas from 9 am throughout the dayAmong these, the Upazila Chairman and Upazila Executive Officer attended the festival of several institutions including Domar Bhumukhi High School, Domar Government Girls High School, Government Primary School and distributed books among the studentsOn the other hand, books have been distributed among the students of Sonara High School, Shalmara SC and Shalmara Bandarpara Government Primary School.

Upazila Education Officer Mr. Amir Hossain said that new books have been given to about 30,000 students in 200 schools of the upazila. He also said that the first and second class students got full sets, no student of third class got books but fourth and fifth class students were given 3 books each. The rest of the books will be given in stages this month.
