SC suspends bail of journalist couple Shakil, Rupa

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday suspended the bail of the journalist couple Shakil Ahmed and Farzana Rupa granted by the High Court (HC) in garment worker Rubel murder case.
The regular bench of the Appellate Division of Justice Md Rezaul Haque passed the order and fixed 10 February next for hearing.
Additional Attorney General Barrister Aneek R Haque, who moved for the state, confirmed the development while lawyer Mamun Mahbub represented the accused in the hearing.
The HC earlier on 20 January granted the bail to the journalist couple. The state later filed a petition seeking suspension of the bail.
